Amnesty International will launch a report on the grave human rights violations committed by Nicaraguan authorities in response to recent protests, at a press conference in Managua on Tuesday 29 May.
Erika Guevara-Rosas, Americas Director at Amnesty International, will present the findings of the report alongside Bianca Jagger, President and Chief Executive of the Bianca Jagger Human Rights Foundation.
Both human rights defenders will be meeting with victims of human rights violations and their families, civil society organizations, students and activists during their visit to the country. The organization has also requested meetings with President Daniel Ortega and other Nicaraguan government officials.

The report to be launched by the organization is based on more than 30 in-depth interviews, 16 case studies, analysis of dozens of testimonies and documentation by local organizations, technical examination and corroboration of video and photographic evidence, and analysis by firearms and munitions experts.
